To Emboss or Deboss, that is the question!

If you want your creative packaging to exude quality then finishing your product with an embossed or debossed logo or design could be the answer.

These print finish processes create a three dimensional image or design that gives real texture to the chosen substrate. Both processes involve making a metal plate and counter. The plate is mounted onto a press and the paper is stamped between the plate and counter. Embossing creates a raised impression which pushes the image above the level of the paper. Debossing is the opposite effect, creating a depressed impression which pushes the image below the level of the paper.

Generally embossing is the process that is most often selected although both are considered great ways to attract attention and convey a high quality textural contrast – and definitely worth considering for your next luxury creative packaging piece.

Here are some great examples of work we have produced which feature an element of embossing or debossing:

Give us a call on (UK) 01794 525 050 or (US) 479 755 6868 if you'd like to discuss this or any of the other print finish options available - it could make all the difference!
